Joint Accreditation Presentation at ACEHP Annual Conference

January 23, 2012

The joint accreditation process was the focus of a presentation at the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEHP) Annual Meeting, held in January 2012 in Orlando. Panelists included representatives from the three accreditors that launched the process in 2009: the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The panelists explained the joint accreditation background and process. In addition, representatives from two organizations that have received joint accreditation, Creighton University and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, discussed the value of interprofessional teams in supporting quality improvement and CME projects within their institutions.
