NEW OPTION: JOINTLY ACCREDITED PROVIDERS CAN NOW ELECT TO OFFER CE FOR DENTISTS

We are delighted to announce a new opportunity: jointly accredited providers now have the option of offering accredited continuing education (CE) activities and profession-specific credit for dentists.

  • We’ve collaborated with the American Dental Association (ADA) to expand Joint Accreditation, enabling you to award single profession or interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) credit to dentists, without needing to attain separate accreditation through the ADA’s Continuing Education Recognition Program (CERP).
  • If you are jointly accredited and your target audience includes dentists, or you are interested in expanding your target audience to include dentists, we invite you to consider this new option. You can choose to add the ability to award continuing dental education credit for an additional $1,500 per year. Jointly accredited providers will be invoiced later this month for the 2020 annual fee, payable by January 31, 2020. If you wish to add the ability to offer continuing dental education credits to your jointly accredited program, please contact [email protected] by the end of December 2019. Your invoice will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Initial applicants can take advantage of this opportunity once they achieve Joint Accreditation.
  • We will update the Joint Accreditation website to include information about designating credit for dentists. We will also modify the Joint Accreditation Program and Activity Reporting System (JA-PARS) to enable you to indicate if your target audience includes dentists and if you are offering ADA CERP credits.
  • Please note: There is no change to the accreditation or reaccreditation process. This new collaboration offers you more options, but there is no requirement to participate.

At our leadership summits and other educational events, we’ve discussed the importance of expanding the Joint Accreditation team to include more health professions. We initiated the collaboration with our colleagues at ADA in response to your requests and because of our commitment to team-based education. Our goal is to increase the benefits you already receive from our unified accreditation process and to support your efforts to deliver high-quality, effective IPCE that improves team collaboration and patient care.

We welcome your questions and feedback. Please contact us [email protected].
