All jointly accredited providers are required to use the Joint Accreditation Program and Activity Reporting System (JA-PARS) to report information about their CE activities.
The resources below contain information on submitting activity data via tab-delimited batch upload, XML batch upload, and web services—you may continue using the same methods and templates you've been using for entering data. The XML batch upload process uses the Medical Education Metrics (MEMS) XML standard created by Medbiquitous.
- JA-PARS Activity XML Instructions: A document describing the activity XML format for JA-PARS.
- JA-PARS Activity XML File Specifications: A zip file containing a sample XML file and other technical files to be used for uploading activity records to PARS. This file is useful to support both implementation of the web services (see Web Services) and XML batch upload file development.
- JA-PARS Activity Excel Instructions: A document describing the activity Excel format for JA-PARS.
- JA-PARS Activity Excel Template: A template to be used for Excel batch uploads to JA-PARS of activities.
- JA-PARS Activity Excel with MOC Template: A template to be used for Excel batch uploads to JA-PARS of MOC activities.
- JA-PARS Activity Tab-Delimited Instructions: A document with instructions for tab-delimited batch uploads to JA-PARS of activities.
- JA-PARS Activity Tab-Delimited Template: A template to be used for tab-delimited batch uploads to JA-PARS of activities.
- Web Services Guide: This guide describes how to modify Joint Accreditation providers’ software/learning management systems to allow them to communicate directly with JA-PARS. A test site is available as a tool to aid in the development and testing of the software designed to use these web services. If you're interested in using the testing site, please contact info@accme.org.
