ACCME Accredits Organizations Providing CME for Physicians

The ACCME sets standards for CME that reflect the values of the educator and ensure that accredited CME is designed to be relevant to clinicians’ needs, evidence-based, evaluated for its effectiveness, and independent of commercial influence.

The ACCME System

The ACCME does not accredit individual educational activities. ACCME accreditation is a voluntary system, based on professional self-regulation and peer review. We accredit thousands of CME providers who represent a range of organizations:

  • Publishing & education companies
  • Hospital & healthcare delivery systems
  • Schools of medicine
  • Physician membership organizations
  • Government & military agencies
  • Nonprofits
  • Insurance & managed-care companies
