A total of 214 interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) professionals joined together online for the virtual Joint Accreditation Leadership Summit on September 30 and October 1.

Keynote speaker Jackie Hunter, NMD, DC, explored the strategies and benefits of embracing inclusivity in both the healthcare delivery and IPCE teams.

“At the American Hospital Association, our vision is that of a just society of healthy communities where all individuals can reach their highest potential. And that’s really important. That’s one thing that really attracted me to the organization is that focus on everyone.”

“The goal throughout this session is that we want to be able to actively listen and be curious also. Think about humility. There may be things that you know, and there may also be things that we don’t know. We are always continuing to learn and evolve, speak with courage and kindness, dialogue, not debate. All voices and emotions are valid, and also invite and acknowledge all contributions.”

During the Opening Session, Celebrating Joint Accreditation’s Growth, Trajectory, and Future Goals, attendees got their first look at the 2023 Data Report, the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, and the IPCE Delivers campaign.

The Joint Accreditation Data Report 2023: The Growing Impact of Team-Based Healthcare features information from 169 diverse accredited education organizations in 42 states and 4 countries. It documents the growing demand for high-quality, accredited interprofessional continuing education.  In 2023, jointly accredited providers offered over 113,000 (up 14% from 2022) educational activities that accounted for over 43 million (up 54% from 2022) learner interactions.

The 2024-2028 Strategic Plan articulates the vision and mission of Joint Accreditation while outlining five strategic goals for the organization over the next four years. Our vision is to advise all members of the healthcare team on IPCE. Mission: Committed to advancing team-based learning to empower collaborative practice and elevate the standard of patient care.

IPCE Delivers is a campaign to communicate the value of your team’s work and the critical difference interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) can make for healthcare organizations.  Our one-pager helps you demonstrate to healthcare decision-makers how IPCE helps your organizations.

A comprehensive report on the Summit will be available later this year.

We thank all who attended the 2023 Leadership Summit. And we are grateful to all the IPCE professionals for your dedication to interprofessional continuing education by the Team, for the Team!
