JOINT ACCREDITATION IMPLEMENTS NEW, TIERED FEE STRUCTURE FOR ANNUAL ACCREDITATION FEE
Beginning in 2020 Joint Accreditation is implementing a new, tiered structure for the annual accreditation fee paid by jointly accredited providers. In September, we sent information to the primary contact for each jointly accredited provider explaining the new structure and the
amounts due for the 2020 and 2021 annual accreditation fees. If your organization is jointly accredited and you did not receive this information, please contact info@jointaccreditation.org. Invoices will be sent in mid-December. More information is available here. If you have questions, please contact us at info@jointaccreditation.org.
IPCE CREDIT AND STATEMENT
We encourage you to include the IPCE credit mark and statement with your IPCE activities that have been planned by and for the healthcare team, in addition to the Joint Accreditation statement.
“This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive (INSERT #) Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.”
The use of the IPCE credit mark and statement will serve to highlight the value of IPCE and communicate to your learners and other stakeholders that the activity is specifically designed to improve team collaboration and patient care. IPCE credit has been recognized by the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and the Georgia Board of Pharmacy. Click here to download the IPCE credit mark.

NEW SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS CURRICULUM OFFERS IPCE CREDIT
A new, free educational offering, Substance Use Disorder 101 Core Curriculum, offers interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) credits. The curriculum is designed to educate primary care providers on the prevention, assessment, and treatment of substance use disorders (SUD) throughout the continuum of care. The program was created by the Providers Clinical Support System, a coalition led by the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, a jointly accredited provider, and funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The goal is to get all health professionals to work and train together in the area of evidence-based clinical practices in preventing and treating SUDs. Learn more.
Funding for this initiative was made possible (in part) by grant no. 1H79TI081968 from SAMHSA. The views expressed in written conference materials or publications and by speakers and moderators do not necessarily reflect the official policies of the Department of Health and Human Services; nor does mention of trade names, commercial practices, or organizations imply endorsement by the U.S. Government.
If you have news about IPCE or your jointly accredited program that you’d like to share with your colleagues, please let us know. Send an email to Melissa Simmons at msimmons@accme.org.
