JA-PARS MODIFICATIONS ENABLE REPORTING OF ACTIVITIES FOR DIETITIANS AND DIETETIC TECHNICIANS, REGISTERED

We are pleased to announce that we have modified the Joint Accreditation Program and Activity Reporting System (JA-PARS) in support of our collaboration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. These changes allow jointly accredited providers to:

  • Indicate reporting year 2021 activities with a target audience of registered dietitians or dietetic technicians, registered
  • Indicate the credits/contact hours offered to these professions
  • Report participation numbers for registered dietitians or dietetic technicians, registered
  • Download updated reports that include these new fields

Updated versions of the tab-delimited and XML activity submission templates are available here. These updated templates should be used for reporting year 2021 and beyond.

Please note: When completing 2020 year-end reporting, due by March 31, 2021, you may still find the applicable instructions, templates, and FAQ in the Educational Resources section of About JA-PARS.

BOARD OF CERTIFICATION FOR THE ATHLETIC TRAINER JOINS JOINT ACCREDITATION

We are delighted to announce a new opportunity: jointly accredited providers have the option of offering accredited continuing education activities and profession-specific credit for Athletic Trainers.

We’ve collaborated with the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) to expand Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education, enabling you to award BOC Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) credit to Athletic Trainers without needing to attain separate program or activity accreditation through BOC.

If you are jointly accredited and your target audience includes Athletic Trainers, or you are interested in expanding your target audience to include this profession, we invite you to consider this new option. Jointly accredited providers will have the opportunity to add Athletic Trainers to their portfolio in June.

LEARN TO VACCINATE: SEARCHABLE DATABASE OF ACCREDITED CE ON COVID-19 VACCINES

Our updated COVID-19 Clinician Resources webpage, LearnToVaccinate.org, now features a searchable database of more than 50 accredited CE activities, with more posted weekly. Healthcare professionals and their teams can search by topic, organization, type of credit, and format. Topics include addressing vaccine hesitancy in healthcare professionals; communicating with patients, vaccine administration, and more. This initiative is a collaboration of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Thanks to the CE community for submitting activities and disseminating urgently needed education to healthcare professionals and teams!

We’re encouraging accredited CE providers to:

  • Promote your activities: Submit information about your activities for health professionals and teams, which will be shared at LearnToVaccinate.org. We will not host the education the site will drive healthcare professionals to your sites and activities. Use this submission form.
  • Spread the word: Distribute the LearnToVaccinate.org link to your leadership, staff, volunteers, learners, and other stakeholders. Promote LearnToVaccinate.org through your communications and social media channels.
  • Share your success stories: if you’ve developed effective approaches for designing and delivering education about the vaccines, we’ll feature your success through our communication channels. Share your story here.
  • Review educator resources: Visit COVID-19 Learn to Vaccinate: Educator Resources for materials from the CDC, vaccine manufacturers, and medical journals to help you produce vaccine-related education.
